In the tradition of Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief and Neil Gaiman's American Gods , The Night's Gift blends adventure, mythology, and morality in a fantasy quest ranging from the magical to the divine.
An orphaned teen with a powerful faith. An aging shop owner with a secret shame. A shared gift - the gift of wings inexplicably tied to the moon. Alvara and Jake find themselves drawn into a web of deceit and peril as their nightly gift of flight leads them further into danger.
Pursued by a mysterious stranger, the unlikely team searches for the heart of the imbalance in the world, and finds themselves drawn deep into myths of flight spanning thousands of years. With the fate of the planet in jeopardy, they embark on a dangerous mission to help the sun and the moon reclaim balance, as black market feather dealers and treacherous alliances endeavor to steal their power.
Sarah is visiting from Boston, where she lives. She is a Manhattan Beach native, 2006 Mira Costa graduate, a graduate of Brown University with a PhD in Neuroscience from UCLA. Though she has multiple scientific papers to her name, The Night's Gift is her first novel.
