First Meeting of Antiracist Book Club

{pages} is excited to hold the first meeting of its new Antiracist Book Club, hosted by our former bookseller Mackenna Greenberg. The book club will be discussing White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism. by Robin Diangelo.

This discussion group welcomes readers to ponder and peruse the ideas discussed in White Fragility. As a white woman, DiAngelo wrote this book to educate white folks on how best to counter racist thoughts. This group discussion will attempt to transform the thinking of our own, and others’, defensive and wary reactions when the subject of race is brought up. We will partake in conversations that recognize racial hierarchies, so that we can actively assist in dismantling oppressive structures.
