Restless in L.A. follows the story of Alex Hoffman as she battles with the demons of middle-age while maintaining the delicate balance of her family. What is a mother to do, with a son on the Autism Spectrum who requires her extra support, and two other beautiful children with their own wants and needs? What is a wife to do, when her loving, but ever absent husband shows his support through only words, and not action? What is a writer to do, when her dreams have taken a backseat to the people she loves the most? Alex begins to answer these questions when an old journal stirs up old memories, and one name rises to the surface: Matt Daniels, a fire from a past she had never truly forgotten. A trip down memory lane and into the Internet finds Alex with her eyes on a familiar face and her finger on the mouse button. What's a Facebook friend request between old friends? Friend. Request. Sent.
Restless in L.A. is a work of fiction inspired by the author's personal experiences as a mother struggling to maintain a balanced family as well as her self-identity. The story brings to light the needs of parents of children with special needs that are all too often forgotten, while entertaining the reader with a scandalous and exciting romance shrouded in personal turmoil.
A gripping read for adults and parents, Restless in L.A. provides insight into the situations that parents of children with special needs deal with on a regular basis. The author draws from her personal experience as a mother and an advocate, to raise awareness of the day-to-day struggle of raising a child who is different in a judgy, parenting world. In doing so, she brings representation to mainstream literature of the often-overlooked parent of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome and/or ADHD.

It was an innocent online flirtation. Until it wasn't... Alexandra Hoffman thinks she has it all together. She lives with her work-obsessed husband Jason and their three challenging children in upscale Los Angeles. She never meant to "friend" her old boyfriend, Matt Daniels. She hasn't seen him in twenty years.
